Welcome

Kelly Vaughn's music is soulful and transparent.  Her songs are written from the heart and speak to the struggle, hopes, and joy that we all experience.  Her beautiful,  unique voice combined with solid and varied guitar playing will touch your soul.  Many listeners experience what has been affectionately called a  "zen experience/moment" during her performances. One listener had this to say "Kelly's voice was kind, heartfelt, and beautiful. We were mesmerized by her..."

What's been going on...

Spring has sprung and outdoor shows have begun!!

The weather is finally cooperating and outdoor shows are beginning!  Very happy to be kicking them off at The Brickyard Stage Final Friday Concert Series in Mansfield!  This will be my third year in a row participating in this great event.  Thanks Downtown Mansfield Inc. for having me back!

I'm also very excited to have been selected to play at Comfest again this year!  Here's hoping the rain will not put a stop to things.  I look forward to featuring a few of my original songs, one of which is brand new and will be on my upcoming CD.

Speaking of the CD, I am in the process of recording and am hopeful to have it done and ready for release sometime this summer.  It will be enti
tled "Life Goes On" and will feature a few new songs, favorites, and will be full length with at least ten to twelve tracks.  I'm excited for you all to hear it!

"Ordinary Girl" has now sold over 900 copies! …and I continue to be busy with gigs.  I've picked up a few new venues that I am excited about…so please check out my event schedule and come out where you can.  Your support is always appreciated!!  See you soon ~ Kelly

My heartfelt thanks...and just WOW!

...just WOW!  That pretty much sums up my feelings of my experiences over the last weekend!  I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the people who helped make the connections for me to have the opportunity to be featured on GOOD DAY COLUMBUS, as well as play during the opening ceremonies of GSWS 2015.  My first time being interviewed on TV was exciting and fun.  Adam Slinger and Maria Durant, and all the staff at WTTE Fox28 made me feel right at home.  Thank you!!  You can find the link under Press/Announcements to watch the interview.  A special thanks to the folks who work at Fox28, saw me at Benito's and told Adam Slinger about me.  I can't say enough how much I appreciate people sharing my music and being willing to spread the word about me!  I got the opportunity to participate in the opening ceremonies at the GSWS the same way, after being seen/heard at a gig at Southbend Tavern.  Again, my thanks to everyone involved.  The opening ceremonies were awesome, and it was the largest stage and crowd I had ever played for...thousands of people were in attendance.  What great experiences all around!  Here's to seeing what the future holds!  I hope you will continue this journey with me!

I have lots of local shows coming up so check out my Events schedule...and see you soon!!

Hello Summer!!

Wow!!  What a great few months it has been.  I am a bit overdue in posting, but that is because I have been so busy, which is great!!  I'm happy that summer has finally arrived and that means outdoor shows!!  I had a blast at The Brickyard Stage in Mansfield and was very honored to kick off their Final Friday Concert Series for the second year in a row!  Thanks Downtown Mansfield for having me back...what a great night!  I had the pleasure of being asked to participate in "Music for your Soul" at the Gazebo Stage in Goodale Park as part of the Columbus Pride Weekend.  It was a real treat for me to be able to play my original songs to such a great crowd!  Also, I was very honored to have been asked to play at Comfest this year.  Unfortunately, the rain closed things down prior to my set, but I am hopeful for next year!  Thanks to all the people who helped to select me for these events...

I have picked up some new regular gigs during the week and my Fridays and Saturdays are pretty much filled for the remainder of the year.  Thanks so much to the folks that keep having me back!  It is a lot of fun for me to make connections, meet new people, and subsequently form relationships with all the folks that come out to the shows, and when I am at a place regularly, it is even better.  It is very special to me to see so many familiar faces, and to feel so supported.  I am truly blessed, and for that I am very grateful.

I am currently working on a new CD, which I hope to be able to release by late summer/fall...fingers crossed!!  I have new songs in the works and continue to expand my list of covers.  Thanks for all the great song suggestions!!  I have more announcements to come, so please check back...and as always, thank you so much!!  See you soon!!

It truly has been a "Celebration of Possibilities"

It has been an exciting couple of months!!  I played at Fairfield County Board of DD's Celebration of Possibilities and had a wonderful time.  It was so awesome to see my song "Extraordinary" literally come to life as the TNT Dance Team acted out the lyrics!  My thanks to everyone involved.

I had the honor of opening for Jennifer Knapp at the Rumba Cafe to a near sold out crowd....what a night!!  I was so touched by all of those who came out to support me and purchased tickets.  Truly humbled....

I also did my first "full length" radio interview on 90.9 wfco's Community Accent program.  (You can find the link to listen at the top of my home page)  I could not have been more pleased with how it turned out.  What a great experience.  I am in such awe of how much things have changed for me in such a short time.  I'm very excited to see how things continue to unfold!

I am currently working on a new CD amidst a busy schedule.  I hope to have it completed by mid-summer if possible.  It will be a somewhat stripped down "just me and my guitar" type of thing.  I am hoping to capture the "live" feel that everyone seems to enjoy.  Fingers crossed!!

As always, thanks for all of the support...for coming out to shows, purchasing CD's, and just coming up and saying HI and letting me know what you think of my music.  I am truly grateful!  See you soon!!

A variety of venues...and all ages!!

What a great couple of months it has been!!  My schedule has been filling up quickly, and I'm very excited to have had the opportunity to play a variety of new venues!  I've played some new coffee shops, wineries, a couple new clubs/bars, and even a library!  It's been great.  As always, I am so appreciative of all the folks that come out to support my music...thank you all!!  I continue to be touched by how much I am able to connect with people of all ages, and all walks of life...it is truly an honor to me.  I absolutely love the picture I've included above and wanted to share...it speaks to what I am talking about and just makes me smile.

Spring is on the way and I'm looking forward to outdoor shows.  I will be doing my best to keep my schedule/events page updated, so please check back regularly!  Thanks again to everyone who comes out to listen...and here's to a great spring!!  See you soon!!

...very honored to be featured in the Lancaster Eagle Gazette!

It's a little hard for me to believe sometimes how much things have changed for me in such a short time.  I am very honored to be featured in the Lancaster Eagle Gazette for this month's "On Stage with Jeff Barron".  I am indebted to Square 7 Coffee House, Art and Clay on Main, and Fairfield County Board of Developmental Disabilities for providing such a wonderful space to share my music.  A special thank you to my friend Susan Dlouhy of Norwich Consulting Services for getting me in the door at Square 7 a short year ago.  Thanks to John Pekar for being such a big supporter and fan :) ...and of course, a big thank you to Temple Custer Montanez and all the staff at Square 7 for being so welcoming and gracious...and having me come back each month!  This has been a wonderful journey so far and I look forward to what the future holds.  Many, many thanks and much love to all who come out each show to listen and support me...couldn't do it without you!  See you again soon!!

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter!!

What a great year it has been so far!  I have had an absolutely fantastic time!  Patios, bars, clubs, coffee shops, private events, and yep! even weddings :)  I have learned so much and met so many great people.  Thank you to everyone who has come out to the shows, bought CD's, and offered up support and encouragement.  It has been pretty cool to move through the seasons and experience the growth and change I have felt in myself almost hand in hand.  I'm excited to say I have some new songs in the works.  I also will be working on a new CD...(I have sold all but a handful of "Ordinary Girl")...more info to come soon!  I'm happy to be playing at some new venues and making new connections, so far it looks like winter isn't going to slow down.  I've included my song "Fall" here which was written around this time of year.  I hope you enjoy!  Come out and see me and hear the live version!  Look forward to it and thanks again!

North, South, and everything in between (well, hopefully!)

Heading south tonight to play at Square Seven in Lancaster and then up north tomorrow night (Saturday) at Sami's Bar in Mansfield!  I'm looking forward to both shows and hope to see you out at one place or another...or, if your feeling adventurous, and really, really like to drive...maybe both! :) Check out my events page for the details.  I just got the news that I'll be opening for Mikaela Davis at The Rumba Cafe August 7th.   I'm very excited about this opportunity.  Thanks, as always, to everyone for your all your support!  It seems like doors are continuing to open, and I'm so grateful and appreciative... Have a great weekend and see you soon!!
 Thank you!!!

Love is in the air...and doors keep opening!

What a great summer it has been so far!  I am really enjoying playing outdoors and for the most part, mother nature has been pretty cooperative.  I have recently started playing more private parties and now have some upcoming wedding dates as well.  I am very honored to be a part of someone's special event and that my music and style seem to be a good fit.  It has been a wonderful experience and I'm looking forward to many upcoming shows/events.  I never cease to be touched by how connected we truly all are, especially through music.

My CD has been very well received and I have gotten a lot of great feedback on it.  A very special thank you to everyone who has purchased it!  I am also working on confirming dates for some new venues as well...please check back soon for dates.  I am learning a lot of new songs and expanding my set list, so if you come out regularly to listen, you will be treated to some new tunes.  I also currently have a few new original songs in the works as well and I hope to be able to debut them soon.

As always, my heartfelt thanks to everyone who comes out to support me, has taken the time to give me feedback either in person or via email/website, and entrusted me to be a part of their life for a few hours...I am truly grateful!  This journey just keeps getting better and it is because of all of you.  Thank you!  See you soon!!

Upcoming shows

I am very excited and humbled to share that "Ordinary Girl" has now sold over 1,500 copies!! Thank you to everyone who has purchased and shared! I am so appreciative of the support. My thanks as well to all the venues who have booked me and continue to do so...and thank you to all who continue to come out to the shows. And last but certainly not least, my thanks to those of you who ask for my original songs. I've said it before, that is one of the best things a songwriter can ask for....thank you! ❤️

My family and I were in Art and Clay in Lancaster painting our own pottery for Christmas and we heard an Angel sing! Kelly's voice was kind, heartfelt, and beautiful. We were mesmerized by her and I have sweet memories of dancing with my 5 and 12 year old sons with her soulful voice in the background. I can't wait to see her again.

Kelly played for my daughter's wedding at Jorgensen Farms on August 1st and it couldn't have been more perfect! She worked with my daughter on the special requests and was accommodating in the flower field with the threat of rain (sun came out for the ceremony)! We received so my compliments on her music and vocals--very impressive! We couldn't be more pleased, Kelly is very talented, the ultimate professional!
