With a unique blend of folk and indie rock, Kelly Vaughn's songs tell a story.  Soulful and transparent and written from the heart, her songs speak to the struggle, hopes, and joy that we all experience. One listener had this to say "Kelly's voice was kind, heartfelt, and beautiful. We were mesmerized by her..."

What's been going on...

It truly has been a "Celebration of Possibilities"

It has been an exciting couple of months!!  I played at Fairfield County Board of DD's Celebration of Possibilities and had a wonderful time.  It was so awesome to see my song "Extraordinary" literally come to life as the TNT Dance Team acted out the lyrics!  My thanks to everyone involved.

I had the honor of opening for Jennifer Knapp at the Rumba Cafe to a near sold out crowd....what a night!!  I was so touched by all of those who came out to support me and purchased tickets.  Truly humbled....

I also did my first "full length" radio interview on 90.9 wfco's Community Accent program.  (You can find the link to listen at the top of my home page)  I could not have been more pleased with how it turned out.  What a great experience.  I am in such awe of how much things have changed for me in such a short time.  I'm very excited to see how things continue to unfold!

I am currently working on a new CD amidst a busy schedule.  I hope to have it completed by mid-summer if possible.  It will be a somewhat stripped down "just me and my guitar" type of thing.  I am hoping to capture the "live" feel that everyone seems to enjoy.  Fingers crossed!!

As always, thanks for all of the support...for coming out to shows, purchasing CD's, and just coming up and saying HI and letting me know what you think of my music.  I am truly grateful!  See you soon!!

A variety of venues...and all ages!!

What a great couple of months it has been!!  My schedule has been filling up quickly, and I'm very excited to have had the opportunity to play a variety of new venues!  I've played some new coffee shops, wineries, a couple new clubs/bars, and even a library!  It's been great.  As always, I am so appreciative of all the folks that come out to support my music...thank you all!!  I continue to be touched by how much I am able to connect with people of all ages, and all walks of life...it is truly an honor to me.  I absolutely love the picture I've included above and wanted to share...it speaks to what I am talking about and just makes me smile.

Spring is on the way and I'm looking forward to outdoor shows.  I will be doing my best to keep my schedule/events page updated, so please check back regularly!  Thanks again to everyone who comes out to listen...and here's to a great spring!!  See you soon!!

...very honored to be featured in the Lancaster Eagle Gazette!

It's a little hard for me to believe sometimes how much things have changed for me in such a short time.  I am very honored to be featured in the Lancaster Eagle Gazette for this month's "On Stage with Jeff Barron".  I am indebted to Square 7 Coffee House, Art and Clay on Main, and Fairfield County Board of Developmental Disabilities for providing such a wonderful space to share my music.  A special thank you to my friend Susan Dlouhy of Norwich Consulting Services for getting me in the door at Square 7 a short year ago.  Thanks to John Pekar for being such a big supporter and fan :) ...and of course, a big thank you to Temple Custer Montanez and all the staff at Square 7 for being so welcoming and gracious...and having me come back each month!  This has been a wonderful journey so far and I look forward to what the future holds.  Many, many thanks and much love to all who come out each show to listen and support me...couldn't do it without you!  See you again soon!!

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter!!

What a great year it has been so far!  I have had an absolutely fantastic time!  Patios, bars, clubs, coffee shops, private events, and yep! even weddings :)  I have learned so much and met so many great people.  Thank you to everyone who has come out to the shows, bought CD's, and offered up support and encouragement.  It has been pretty cool to move through the seasons and experience the growth and change I have felt in myself almost hand in hand.  I'm excited to say I have some new songs in the works.  I also will be working on a new CD...(I have sold all but a handful of "Ordinary Girl")...more info to come soon!  I'm happy to be playing at some new venues and making new connections, so far it looks like winter isn't going to slow down.  I've included my song "Fall" here which was written around this time of year.  I hope you enjoy!  Come out and see me and hear the live version!  Look forward to it and thanks again!

North, South, and everything in between (well, hopefully!)

Heading south tonight to play at Square Seven in Lancaster and then up north tomorrow night (Saturday) at Sami's Bar in Mansfield!  I'm looking forward to both shows and hope to see you out at one place or another...or, if your feeling adventurous, and really, really like to drive...maybe both! :) Check out my events page for the details.  I just got the news that I'll be opening for Mikaela Davis at The Rumba Cafe August 7th.   I'm very excited about this opportunity.  Thanks, as always, to everyone for your all your support!  It seems like doors are continuing to open, and I'm so grateful and appreciative... Have a great weekend and see you soon!!
 Thank you!!!

Love is in the air...and doors keep opening!

What a great summer it has been so far!  I am really enjoying playing outdoors and for the most part, mother nature has been pretty cooperative.  I have recently started playing more private parties and now have some upcoming wedding dates as well.  I am very honored to be a part of someone's special event and that my music and style seem to be a good fit.  It has been a wonderful experience and I'm looking forward to many upcoming shows/events.  I never cease to be touched by how connected we truly all are, especially through music.

My CD has been very well received and I have gotten a lot of great feedback on it.  A very special thank you to everyone who has purchased it!  I am also working on confirming dates for some new venues as well...please check back soon for dates.  I am learning a lot of new songs and expanding my set list, so if you come out regularly to listen, you will be treated to some new tunes.  I also currently have a few new original songs in the works as well and I hope to be able to debut them soon.

As always, my heartfelt thanks to everyone who comes out to support me, has taken the time to give me feedback either in person or via email/website, and entrusted me to be a part of their life for a few hours...I am truly grateful!  This journey just keeps getting better and it is because of all of you.  Thank you!  See you soon!!

Summer is here!! Outdoor shows are the best! The Brickyard Stage, Rule 3, Benito's Patio and a new EP

What an awesome weekend and a fantastic way to kick off the summer!  Played to a great crowd at The Brickyard Stage in Mansfield, Ohio on Friday night.  I was the first performer to kick off their Final Friday Concert Series.  What a great space and great people.  It felt really good to be playing outside and my set was very well received...even got the opportunity to be on stage and under the lights with Gatlin as they closed out their set and the evening.  Truly an amazing experience...my thanks to Darryl and Andrea.  Saturday night found me at Rule 3 in Pickerington as part of their Acoustic Summer Concert Series.  This was my first time there and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I will be there again on June 13th and am in the process of scheduling future dates, so check back on my Events page.   Also, had a great time at Benito's on the patio last Saturday...met lots of new folks and tried out some new songs!  Looking forward to being there again June 21st.  It's looking like it's going to be a busy summer.  I also have a new EP "Ordinary Girl"  available for purchase, as well as "KellyVaughnMusic" stickers.  The CD features 5 of my original songs.  Both the CD and the stickers are available on the website, or even better, come out to a show and I'll have them with me!  Hope to see you and here's to a great summer!!

Key West Songwriter's Festival

What a wonderful time and a great place to hang out!!  Definitely found lots of inspiration listening to all the artists and their stories, and of course, in Key West itself.  A great place...I look forward to going back.  I also had the opportunity to be on the radio (104.9 The X) and chat with Vinny K. for a short interview...it was awesome!  Looks like I may have some chances to go back to play some shows!  Now that I'm back in Ohio, I'm looking forward to playing Square 7, Benito's, The Brickyard in Mansfiled, and I just got booked for a show at Rule 3 in Pickerington...please check out my Events page for locations, dates, and times.  Hope to see you!!

Square 7, Java Central, and The Brickyard Stage!

There has been a lot  happening!  I have played two more shows at the fabulous Square 7 Coffee House...absolutely love this space.  It is always a fun, relaxing time.  I've had the pleasure of meeting a lot of new people and have received some great feedback.  If you haven't been, please come check it out...located inside Art and Clay on Main in Lancaster, Ohio.  There are all kinds of cool activities you can do while enjoying your favorite coffee beverages, and more, plus live music!

Played my first open mic at Java Central.  I really enjoyed the intimate setting and was very impressed with the talent in attendance.  I was battling the onset of a severe cold/strep throat, so was not at my best, but still enjoyed myself.  I met some fantastic folks and look forward to going back on April 18th.  If you enjoy a quiet, private atmosphere, then this is the place for you!  Come check it out...

Finally, I have been booked to play The Brickyard Stage in Mansfield as part of their Final Fridays Series.  I am very excited about this opportunity.  A fantastic outdoor venue, this should be a great show...check out my Events page for all the details.

Square 7 Coffee House @ Art and Clay on Main - March 7, 2014

Had an enjoyable evening in the laidback setting of Square 7 Coffee House in Lancaster, OH.   Located inside Art and Clay on Main, folks enjoyed their favorite coffee beverages, smoothies, and tea, while painting and/or just chilling.  Square 7 is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to play.  A great space and great people...come check it out, I'll be there next Friday!  Thanks and see you soon!

Upcoming shows

I am very excited and humbled to share that "Ordinary Girl" has now sold over 2,000 copies!! Thank you to everyone who has purchased and shared! I am so appreciative of the support. My thanks as well to all the venues who have booked me and continue to do so...and thank you to all who continue to come out to the shows. And last but certainly not least, my thanks to those of you who ask for my original songs. I've said it before, that is one of the best things a songwriter can ask for....thank you! ❤️
